Scuro was an experiment we started in 2015, co-picking and co-fermenting Sangiovese and Syrah from our Dark Horse Vineyard. The resulting wine was much darker and richer than our straight Sangiovese, so we called it Scuro; ‘Dark’ in Italian.

In 2022 we tweaked the style, incorporating 20% wholebunches (of both Sangiovese and Syrah) in the ferment to bring an extra dimension of spice to the blend. Scuro is a complex, sulty drink - perfect with Italian flavours; woodfired pizza, rosemary salt and olive oil.
